Floating Notional Equity Swap

A variable notional swap in which the notional is reset after a payment in response to the change in a specific equity index over some interval. This swap is basically designed to replicate the changing value of an underlying basket of stocks, whilst, at the same time, taking into consideration the cost of funding this basket and the dividends received on its components.

This swap is also known as a variable notional equity swap.
