Basket-Linked Certificate of Deposit

A certificate of deposit (CD) that links the rate of return (yield) to the performance of a basket of stocks. The basket may be an individual set of underlying shares (tailor-made by the issuing bank) or an index (published by an exchange). It ties the rate of return to the price changes of the underlying basket over the term of the certificate.
