Collective Investment Scheme

An investment scheme that involves raising funds from different investors and using the collected money to take on an investment. The pooled funds are managed on behalf of contributing investors by a professional money manager against a fee. A collective investment scheme allows the money manager a full control of its investments.

A collective investment scheme is also called a mutual fund.
